- I do believe (as a Black American) this has nothing to do with RACE and everything to do with the races to be run come this November. I see this as a way to discredit the democrates for the coming elections. If the man was wrong, then he was wrong. The fact that some ethnic groups are "disproportionally" targeted would not be an issue if they did nothing wrong to be targeted.
- ... and another thing. I suspect a tinge of bias as I listen further, from Ms. Headlee and Ms. Davis on the part of being a woman. Their voices just seem to scream "THIS IS MY BODY!"
- Not to inject religion into the conversation, but 1 Cor 7:4 states that the wifes body is not her own, and neither is that so for the husband. I agree with Katy. Currently my fiance` is taking birth control and we plan on having a family. After being married in a few months, we still would like to wait a year or two to establish ourselves. If something were to happen to her (that would drasticly change our plans), I would feel it my right as her husband to make that decision. I know her better than anyone and can say w/o a doubt that she would agree (this after I confirmed it :-).
- I'm so surprised that something like this would happen and everyone... everyone have such a knee-jerk reaction.
@Carter_Burger
I'm also surprised at your comments, did you read the piece? Did you listen to what was being said? I can only imagine how she felt being in the South around that time and doing her job. She was honest about her thoughts and feelings, and had the internal fortitude to do the right thing - and you fault her for that? I would love to hear your HONEST thoughts and feelings when in the company of those who don't look like you.
