- I own a small (9 employees) in the Detroit area. Last week we hired a new person, the first in a very long time. Our business has been doing well, we provide a service that people need whether the economy is up or down.
Large banks have not been helpful to small business. We had a line of credit with bank that was bought by Bank of America. With no warning, they called in our line of credit. We had a good history with them but that made no difference to them. No more banking with big banks for us, we moved all of our money to a smaller and more local bank.
- While listening to this today, I heard that the town was upset because no more money was coming in from the husbands who were working in the US, while here illegally. The money earned here should be spent here, not sent away to support another town, city, state, or country. When I pay my employees, they spend their dollars in the communities they live in, thereby keeping the economy going. If we continue to let all of these dollars earned by undocumented people leave our country, our economy will continue the backslide.
