U.S. Carries Out Raids in Libya & Somalia

Monday, October 07, 2013

Over the weekend, U.S. military personnel conducted targeted operations in Libya and Somalia in an attempt to bring international terrorists to justice.

As a result of the Libya operation, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said that one of the world's most wanted terrorists was captured and is now in U.S. custody.

“Abu Anas al Libi was designated as a global terrorist by executive order, was a subject of the U.S. Rewards for Justice Program, and is on the U.N. Al Qaeda sanctions list,” Hagel said. “He was also indicted for his alleged role in the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Africa, and other plots to conduct attacks against U.S. interests.”

There have been conflicting reports on whether any Al Shabab leaders were killed in the operation in Somalia.

Congressmen Adam Schiff represents California’s 28th district and is a member of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in the U.S. House of Representatives. He discusses the military operation and its significance.

President Obama is going out of his way to try and close open air parks and monuments. Double the normal personnel have been assigned in attempts to block locations with no fencing. The press covering for Obama has crossed from spin to outright lying.

That's actually another story, Larry. A separate, different story. How the left-wing press, pundits and even White House and Congressional Democrats have gone off on unhinged allegations that Republicans are "terrorists."

Like I say, Larry; I think it is a great story, and deserving of much more attention from the The Takeaway: "the left's unhinged reaction to the debt ceiling debate," along with the left's casual use of "terrorist" language.

Congratulations to U.S. Intelligence, our Armed Forces, and our President for finding out where a known Terrorist lives, for giving the order to pick him up, and actually getting him.

I would hope that the right wing would acknowledge this act, or have they forgotten 9-11 and who are true enemies are?

The end of this segment, turning to the debt limit debate, was an Alice in Wonderland moment. While Rep. Schiff and John Hockenberry were talking about President Obama using "the National Guard" to reopen national parks, the fact is that the Obama Administration has been going out of its way to use federal powers to CLOSE parks and related facilities. Using their executive powers to make the federal government shutdown as publicly painful as possible. And worse yet, Schiff's fellow Democrats have voted to NOT allow the latest Republican-originated smaller Continuing Resolution (CR) bills to keep open federal programs like cancer research and national parks.

It might be one thing, if The Takeaway were putting a liberal slant on the news. But this is a wholesale left-wing perversion of the news.
