Elections are essential to a healthy democracy. But who really votes?

The U.S. Census Bureau has brand new data looking at decades worth of voting patterns from across the country. If you look inside the numbers you can find some bad news and some good news for both Republicans and Democrats.

Dante Chinni, director of the American Communities project at American University, joins us to shed some light on what the numbers mean.

Voting is an adult activity. As we continue to infantilize adulthood we should not be surprised when young adults do not vote. In fact, if 18 year olds are too irresponsible to drink or get their own health insurance - why are we letting them vote. We need to agree on an age that all things are legal.
