BBC correspondent Christopher Landau traveled to the Gaza Strip, where he reported on the lives of unwed mothers - and their children - in the region. He joins us with his account.
Just a note with all due respect to unwed mothers - Mary was not an unwed mother. The Annunciation took place while she 'was betrothed to Joseph but was not yet living in his house', and betrothal was stronger in Jewish society than engagement is in ours,it was all but marriage. They were married long before the Birth of Jesus, that's why Mary went with Joseph to Narazeth to register for the census.
