I still use my walkman to listen to the great Star Wars audio tapes that were originally delivered on NPR radio back in the 80's,
They play crisp as ever and my kids love them too.

First Walkman memory: Fall 1982, walking across the campus of William Jewel College playing Billy Joel's "The Nylon Curtain"; the way the music seemed actually to originate in the center of my brain... of course I'd worn headphones before, but walking alone, outdoors, at night, with my music -- it was spellbinding.
