Multiculturalism Fails in Germany

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

German Chancellor Angela Merkel stood before the youth wing of her Christian Democratic Union Party over the weekend and said that multiculturalism has failed in the country. The integration of Muslim Turks and Germans has gone on unsuccessfully over the last 40 years.

Andrew Nagorski, vice president and director of public policy at the EastWest Institute, says that for all our problems here in the U.S. with immigration, we have coped with it better than many European societies. Baha Gungor, head of the Turkish language section of Deutsche Welle radio, has lived in Germany for 50 years and think Merkel's comments are misguided.

Politicians have a moral obligation and yet they need support .Drive for success too hard to the right and you end up on the left. To drive down the middle is called Chicken. The politicians of our time are trying hard not to inplode, the agenda could be a premeditated spin on reality. It would not be the first time.
