Postum, Underalls, and the comeback of the Hydrox cookie

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Are you a brand-loyal consumer? Are you a cookie-eater? If so, you may have noticed a void at the supermarket these past five years. The crème-filled Hydrox cookie disappeared from shelves in 2003, but, with a huge marketing push, is being revived by the Kellogg Company at stores this week—sans trans fat. Which brands would you bring back?

I liked the Nabisco Favorites, the one family I sat (baby) for, always bought those for me to have when I was at their house.

I also like original Underalls, I liked the real silky panties not like the pantyhose today. Too rough to wear without panties.

Enjoyed hearing about my old favorites like Hydrox and Frusen Gladje. For years, I have been hoping Nabisco would bring back their "Nabisco Favorites". For those who may not remember, these were boxes of Nabisco's most popular cookies all in one box for everyone to enjoy,ie Lorna Doones, Oreos, Chip Ahoy and of course, Fig Newtons. They were great to put out for entertaining or at company board meetings. I was very sad when they discontinued this product a number of years ago. I hope Nabisco will revive it for all us baby boomers!
