Lance Armstrong's comeback attempt at the Tour de France ended this weekend in defeat. He finished third behind Spaniard Alberto Contador, who racked up his second victory in Paris. The Takeaway Sports Contributor, Ibrahim Abdul-Matin, recaps the weekend in sports, from Lance Armstrong's plans for next year to the weekend at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

Pretty much what I assumed. Armstrong was true to his word, and performed his team role correctly. Will be interesting next year when Armstrong and Contador are on different teams.

Hey Dave, great point. Lets not forget that Lance has won more tours than anyone else - ever. So him riding will be a story no matter how he finishes - he is technically the greatest of all time.

The commercialized medias attempt to create a pop culture icon similar to Paris Hilton has now spilled over into National Public radio. Hopefully this type of sensationalism will be short lived for public radio.
