Good Morning everyone! Today is the Summer Solstice - so how about a "real oldie" to celebrate the day? Felix Mendelssohn's "Incidental music to a Midsummer Night's Eve."

Nothing says "summer" to me like the B-52s "Rock Lobster".

One song that takes me back to some of my earliest summers on earth is "Up, Up and Away" (1967) recorded by the 5th Dimension.

Summer has arrived so early this year in the south with the humidity, I think "Oy, It's So Humid" from Two Live Jews is appropriate :-)

Though it's not specifically about summer, I associate the Beatles' "Sargeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" with the "summer of love" and the explosion of psychedelic music into the mainstream.

Though never an AM Radio hit, the most beautiful summertime song is, in my opinion, Gil Evans' amazing arrangement of "Summertime" performed by Miles Davis. I cannot sing it for you because it is all about Miles' funky, sexy muted sound.

My summer soundtrack is the music from the new Red Sox musical, JOHNNY BASEBALL!
