Ebert wrote "Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls" with Russ Meyer. I was hanging out with Russ, years ago on the day when he was traveling to Chicago for Ebert's wedding.
Russ spoke fondly of Ebert as a down to earth and earthy man. I can't go into details here.
I think in his honor, I will rewatch "Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls," this weekend,"Its my happening and it freaks me out." - I'm sure Ebert wrote that line.
