Friday, March 15, 2013

Movie fans have plenty to choose from this weekend. They include "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone," starring Steve Carell, and "The Call," starring Halle Berry. There are also a few indies, including "Ginger and Rosa," starring Elle Fanning, and "Spring Breakers," starring James Franco and a lot of young women who came up through the Disney machine.

As usual, our Movie Date team, Rafer Guzman and Kristen Meinzer, weigh in. In addition to co-hosting the Movie Date podcast, Rafer is film critic for Newsday and Kristen is culture producer for The Takeaway.

I have a feeling that "Spring Breakers," will be a cult classic down the line. I won't watch it for twenty years; all the young ladies have to be middle age before I watch them as youngsters.

Burt Wonderstone would be my pick for this weekend. Sounds like fun. I hope they got Vegas right. I go to Vegas every time my Aunt gets married.

Love this segment - Thanks Kristin! I tend to dislike every movie you like. Now I know what NOT to bother watching (and waste my $$ on a ticket).
