Boston Declares Public Health Emergency

The flu outbreak is so severe in Boston that Mayor Thomas Menino declared a health emergency this week. Boston has reported 700 cases of flu, up from just 70 last year, and Massachusetts has already 18 flu-related deaths this season. 

Dr. Brien Barnewolt, chair of Emergency Medicine at Tufts Medical Center, describes the scene on the ground.
