Some CEOs Making More Than Their Company Pays in Taxes

Friday, August 17, 2012

This isn't going to make any CEOs happy. The Institute for Policy Studies, a left-leaning group in Washington, D.C., released its annual report yesterday. It calls out specific companies like Conoco Phillips and AT&T for paying their CEOs more than they pay the government in taxes. Its conclusion? Taxpayers are padding the pockets of higher-ups at these big corporations.

Sarah Anderson, director of the Global Economy Project at the Institute for Policy Studies, co-authored the report.

Feddup,
I tend to repeat that the greatest job creators were ... Hitler and Stalin.

YOU BUILT THAT?

Dear Job Creators,

PLEASE STOP.

You built swell jobs for yourselves and a bunch of crummy jobs for little guys worldwide but, you're milking this cow and not feeding it.

This shell game of offshore banks and businesses allows you to "play by the rules" and skim all the cream off the top of our economy but, we can't raise healthy grandkids on non-fat, watered down milk.

I've boned up on this game -- kinda reminds me of the Butcher boy's bank scam back in the 70s, only without the regulators spoiling the fun -- and I know that you won't go to jail.

There are no rules to break in this game you're playing. That's while you're called, EXEMPT, by the regulators.

But, that don't mean what you're doing is right. Time for new rules.

What you've created, you've built milking 99% of the rest of us. We don't want to work on your farm, no more.

Yours Truly,

Feddup Freeman

Elroy, actually the problem is that nobody understands where the problem is - it isn't about "bringing salaries .. etc." It's about stopping exploitation and the salaries will be brought in line ...

There should not be an apostrophe after the word, CEO, in your headline.

Curly,
The left in America? A ridiculous notion. The ones I know are leftists in Hitler style and end up sooner or later in South California neo-Nazi camps.
The decent left in the style of unions, protection of human rights in the workplace, health care, education, child care etc. doesn't exist in America.

Of course, Elroy. But try to explain it to the illiterate and totally brainwashed population which functions on the level: "I don't envy," "I love my job, I love by boss."
Obviously, exploitation leads to unemployment (when a moron works for two, there is somewhere an unemployed" and insane enrichment of the predators.

High CEO pay has a direct link with high unemployment. If CEO pay was brought in line with what it once was 40x lowest paid erner in the company. Thn the companies concerned could employ between 2-3 million more people in the US

This would be a good time for the leftist and left leaning/progressive/democrats to show the rest of the world the way corporations should act and pay taxes by forming a corporation to provide a product(s) and/or service(s). Then as this corporation grows it would pay a appropriate salary to the CEO and the rest of the employees and pay to the state(s) and Feds all the taxes that it should owe by not using the same technique that those other bad corporations are using. This corporation should lead by example.

An important issue - American insanity.
So, employees spend their 80 hour workweeks working toward a noble goal - CEOs 100 mullion a year salaries - who in turn spend a portion of their "salaries" toward another noble goal - changing law, corrupting press, etc. thus ensuring further enslavement. Yes, this makes sense. Only in America.
