Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio on SB 1070 Ruling

Yesterday's Supreme Court decision said only the federal government can enforce the federal laws concerning immigration. But there was one notable exception. In cases where police have a suspect in custody, or have detained someone on suspicion of other charges, then local police are permitted to determine the immigration status of their suspect and take action.

The Takeaway spoke with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio about the decision, which he sees as a victory.
