Earlier this week, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accused Russia of providing helicopters to assist the Assad regime; yesterday, she reiterated that Russia could sacrifice its interests in the Middle East if it doesn't support the international community's push for regime change in Syria. Despite Clinton's criticism and condemnation from the international community at large, Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov says his country is simply fulfilling contracts for air defense systems that were signed between the Russians and Syrians years ago.
