It’s Monday morning and that means it’s time to check out what’s on the AGENDA for the week ahead. We’re joined by Todd Zwillich, Washington Correspondent for The Takeaway. And Callie Crossley, host of the Callie Crossley Show at WGBH Boston.
It is a bit weird that so little is said about companies which have increased the burden on current employees even as business increases instead of hiring new employees. A friend of mine is an architect in a prominent firm. In the height of recession the firm reduced its workforce by 20%. Business has been steadily increasing for the past year but there is no hiring of new employees. My friends and his co-workers have been working longer hours and not infrequently he goes home long after midnight. He tells me he has never been the last one to leave work.
