Just when the Westminster dog show started, we asked you to submit photos and video to enter our contest for smartest dog. Here's what you sent us, with the help of Storify and WNYC's Sarah Montague.
Hi--I ought to mention that Clove Spice is the only dog I've ever had that figured out how to come out of a NYC tree pit the same way she came in, thus not getting tangled in the uprghts. As long as she is wearing a collar around her neck with her leash attached at neck level she will quickly find her way back out instead of trying to dash out of the nearest opening and having to be extricated. Her son, Sage can do it now too, but he had to be taught. She figured it out herself. She can also do it with her harness on, and the leash attached at the middle of her back, but it takes her a bit longer. --Mary
