El Paso Resident Skeptical of 2011

Friday, December 31, 2010

Life-long resident Jesus Ochoa has fond memories of growing up in El Paso, Texas. But he isn't optimistic about 2011; he says living on the border with Mexico is an increasingly scary existence, and is upset at the failure of President Obama and Congress to pass the so called "Dream Act." Ochoa joins us to talk about his hometown and its continuing challenges in the new year.

I just read/heard Jeeus Ochoa's interview, as well as some of the following comments. I have known him for about 40 years, but in in recent years, lost contact with Mr. Ochoa about/and of the facts regarding one commententator's words regarding his dificulties with the Texas Bar. I was a fellow lawyer and value the time I had with him and our conversatons/exoeriences in the utmost. I know that I was blessed to know him and be a participant in very provacitive/progressive conversations with him about the border, the state of affairs with citizens of the US and Mexico, and value that experience to the utmost. No negative views of the man can remove his positive contributions to life and times on the border.

Peace, Jesus,

Ed Cloutman
