Census Data Will Adjust Political Landscape

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

Data from the 2010 census will be released today, and the results could help give Republicans more seats in the House of Representatives.  For each state, the census data will confirm the total and regional populations, and indicate whether the state will gain or lose representation in the House. At this point, the GOP looks poised to pick up seats in several states.

Tom Curry, national affairs writer for MSNBC.com, goes over with us the states that could lose and gain seats in the House.

And Michael Shear, chief political reporter for the Caucus Blog at The New York Times, has the impact these changes in the House will have on the 2012 elections.

Peg from Upstate NY

Very soon the mass migration to the South and West from the Northeast will switch. The West and South are rapidly running out of water. Thirsty southwesters will soon be rapidly running to the plentiful water supply in the Northeast. Invest in cheap northeast property NOW while prices are low!!!!!
