I recently discovered a label called Paradise Music and their artist Llewellyn is truly the most relaxing music I've ever heard. In particular his Reiki Gold album.
The most relaxing for me is the sound of the recitation of the Koran Kareem. Anytime, anywhere.
That's my yoga, that's my everything.
Go to Meccalive and listen non-stop to live recitation while watching the un-ending swirling around the Kabba. Peacefully peaceful.
if this doesn't chill you out nothing else will... "le pas
le pas du chat noir" - anouar brahem, from Tunisia... birthplace of the arab spring ...

"Hold On" by Tom Waits has helped me off the ledge more than once.
One of my most relaxing songs:
"Soukora" from TALKING TIMBUKTU / Ali Farka Toure with Ry Cooder
I find it calming & very beautiful music, as are some of the other tracks on this album.
"Rio" by Michael Nesmith
I love the lyrics: "It's only a whimsical notion to fly down to Rio tonight, and I probably won't fly down to Rio, but then again, I just might".

The bits I heard on the preview sounds like material from Hearts of Space radio show heard on NPR.

I will offer up "North American Field Song" by the Innocence Mission. It has helped me to calm down many times.
What about that song by Frankie Goes to Hollywood? It has "Relax" right in the title!
What scientists? Where did you get this? There is no reference for follow up. Is this simply sensational hype? Please back this up.
Dig This Vibe by DJ Krush
My most relaxing song for a Monday? "A Child Is Born" by the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra.
