As you examine how high gas prices are impacting our society, I wish you would also explore this phenomenon in the context of global oil depletion--one of the drivers of increasing oil costs--and examine as well, what is likely to occur in a world dependent on increasingly costly oil as it depletes if we don't change our entire energy paradigm. Is it a fact that global reservoirs of this finite commodity of oil is depleting? What will happen to our society in another 40 years if we continue to depend on depleting oil? Why aren't you asking those questions?

I live in Detroit and listen from the fringes when gas price dialogue flares up. I ride my bike to and from work every day of the year. I am very fortunate to teach at a School that is within 3 miles of my home. I never understood people who drive an hour plus to and from work like the guy in Florida. I've never understood people who do not "bundle" their errands regularly. I've never understood people who drive a 8 cylinder engine either. I say cut the errands, cut any job that takes you out of your own community, and cut the V8. These are choices we make. Stop wasting my resources for your personal comfort. When you see a cyclist please recognize that we are sacrificing personal conveniences for you and your children.
