Dear Ms. Montague, That is the exact Robert Doisneaux photo I had in mind! But you show an extensive knowledge of the old classics having mentioned the Eisenstaedt V-J picture. You taught me much about my own work and I am indebted to you for that! I'm looking forward to a cat contest next and hope that you produce it. Best, Laura Schair
i like your show very much; tried calling but couldnt get through.
I listen to you on KUVO, Denver
My dog is my life and w/o him I couldnt exist, that's how much I love dogs.
Laura Schair, who took the tender and witty photograph of the bull dog being embraced on a city street, exposed the hazards of impromptu musings, and expanded our knowledge of contemporary photography, when she wrote in to ask if I had actually meant, not a photograph by Cartier Bresson, but one by Robert Doisneau.
I imagine Ms. Schair was thinking of Doisneau’s "Kiss by the Hotel de Ville," from 1950.
But in fact my fleeting recollection was of the famous Alfred Eisenstaedt Life Magazine cover of V-J Day in Times Square on August 14, 1945 (follow the links below to see the images).
Thank you for a beautifully reverberant image.

Maybe the famous V-J Day image that was shot in Times Square by Alfred Eisenstaedt (not Cartier-Bresson)?
Dear Ms. Montague,
I was flattered that you compared my English Bulldog photograph to a Cartier Bresson, but I wonder if you meant to compare this photo to the classic Robert Doisneau picture instead. I would love to know which particular photo you have in mind. Anyway, thanks for your lovely feedback. You made my day!
