I was the lone white suburban teenager who was part of that underground mixtape cassette culture in my little town outside of Boston. It was all about access to the plethora of college radio stations in Boston. WERS, WMBR, WHRB, etc. I was making mix tapes with songs even my city friends didn't know about! Everyone thought I was a freak, but hey, the music had meaning and it spoke to me. I loved it!
