In times of rising fuel prices, Americans are shifting from gas guzzlers to smaller cars. How small? The Takeaway went to Scooter Bottega in Brooklyn, N.Y., to investigate.

My father is a used car dealer in Portland, OR, and he can not sell a pickup or an SUV anymore. Because of this, he no longer buys or stock them.
In addition, people are looking to buy newer cars that get better mileage. They want to trade in their older cars; however my father notes that everyone else wants to do the same thing so the older cars are not of much value to him.
