Obama Promises Financial Aid as Syria's Crisis Deepens

A horrific update on the conflict in Syria came from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an activist organization based in the United Kingdom, this week. They said more than 50 bodies were found, bound and shot, along the banks of a small river in the city of Aleppo.

At the humanitarian crisis deepens, many are fleeing Syria. According to the United Nations, more than 700,000 Syrians refugees have fled to neighboring countries. On Tuesday, President Obama pledged an $155 million in humanitarian aid to the Syrian people.

Ahmed Shiyab, a researcher from Syrian Refugees based in Jordan and Amr Al Azm, member of the Syrian opposition and a professor at Shawnee State University, explain how the crisis is deepening.
