Facebook Unveils New Search Function

Facebook and Google have maintained a rivalry since Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg arrived on the industry scene and eventually convinced Google's star Vice President, Sheryl Sandberg, to defect in 2008.

Yet, while the two companies compete over users and engineers for hire, when it comes to earnings, Google consistently outperforms Facebook. The search engine earns ten times what the social networking site earns every year.

The revenue gap is likely one reason behind Facebook's latest venture, a search tool called Graph. Patrick Moorhead, president and principal analyst of Moor Insights and Strategy, discusses the new function, and what it means for the future of search and social networking.

Fortunately, we are a society with a short attention span...I bet in five years, Google won't mean anything to anyone...Oh, old timers might remember Googly eyes.
The new will always win in this country...Of course, the new only lasts six months these days
