Libertarian Party Nominee Gary Johnson: A True Fiscal Conservative

Monday, September 03, 2012

Last week, the media was inundated with images of delegates gathering in Tampa to nominate Mitt Romney for president, and this week delegates will be doing the same for Barack Obama. Yet there are been many other nominating conventions of late, although they have received substantially less attention.

While it may appear that Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are the only Americans running for president, there are still many third party candidates in the race. Gary Johnson, a libertarian, is one of those candidates.

Why do you think "libertarians" rhyme with "barbarians?" There must be a higher reason.

When Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich have the same foreign policy criticisms, and foreign policy is not a serious issue for the major parties, one must consider that Ike was right. The military-industrial-congress-banking complex has hijacked the political process. The Francis Gary Powers U2 shoot-down ended Ike's hopes for a Soviet/USA peace treaty. Ike apologized for the shoot-down, even though he never was informed what the military was doing. The military ensured its future support.

Only getting into the streets and demanding change will encourage other media to promote these alternative non-party views, like the Takeaway has so generously done with its time. We are at a serious time in our ongoing American revolution, as government has stripped fundamental human rights embraced since the thirteenth century. The King, I mean President, can disappear people at his discretion with no legal recourse. The military budget is 40% secret despite the constitution demanding public accounting. All war making is going secret, with embedded reporters, shift to special operations and CIA action, drone attacks, undeclared wars, AFRICOM on hegemonic expansion, all beneath the radar. For example, we see daily the effects of Assad bombing rebel strongholds in Syrian towns. But we never see the effects of drone attacks on terrorists. It's classified. PR is not truth. We can have democracy or we can have secrecy.

The Libertarians are just moderate Republicans and the Green represents far left Democrats. What is really the difference?

It is hard to vote for a third party candidate... It is a little like rooting for The Mets in the World Series, when they did not even make the Playoffs...

The fact that the Libertarian Candidate is on the ballot in all fifty states, makes him more viable. He is at least in the Stadium.

Why does the link to leave comments on "Third Parties Convene for The Takeaway's Virtual Convention" lead directly to this "Libertarian Party Nominee Gary Johnson" page???

I am a green because I feel that we need a party that reflects the needs of a healthy and sustainable community.
