Romney Makes Appeal to Latino Voters

During primary season, Mitt Romney characterized his immigration policy as one of "self-deportation." This hard-line stance on immigration affected his standing with Latino voters: in most polls, Romney was attracting barely more than a quarter of the demographic. But yesterday, at the meeting of the National Association of Latino and Elected Appointed Officials, or NALEO, the prospective GOP nominee made his pitch. Where does Romney go from here as he seeks to make inroads with the Latino community?

Charles Krauthammer provides these quotes:

"With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations [of immigrants brought here illegally as children] through executive order, that’s just not the case, because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed.”

“Now, I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own. . . . But that’s not how our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions. That’s not how our Constitution is written.”

"“America is a nation of laws, which means I, as the president, am obligated to enforce the law. I don’t have a choice about that.”

President Obama, 2011

Seriously, doesn't this bother anyone?

A balanced conversation as usual. (not)

Romney's speech "felt fake, it didn't feel sincere"
Nothing says sincerity like the President's constant politically motivated pandering and now a desperate flouting of the US Constitution to cynically appeal to Latino voters just months before an election.
Romney's serious, long term, responsible and constitutional plan is dismissed as "fake".

Why is Obama's cover-up of Fast & Furious which took the lives of 200 Mexicans not a Latino issue long with the President's conflict with the Catholic Church and its institutions which are suing the Obama Administration?

Why cannot the left have an honest conversation on this issue and what point can this be called misinformation?

In no other area is our society, other than religion, does a child get punished for the criminal activity of their parents. The fact that romney was against the dream act, and now is kinda for it, but will not be specific, shows he is only taking about it to get votes.
