It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood: PBS Digital Studios has commissioned Symphony of Science's mashup artist John Boswell to remix our favorite neighbor from the 70s, 80s and 90s, and the video has gone viral.
The video, which features the late Fred Rogers talking about the power of imagination in the song "Garden of Your Mind", has gotten over 650,000 views in less than 24 hours. When PBS Digital Studios' head Matthew Graham contacted mashup master John D. Boswell, he mentioned that he was a huge Mister Rogers Neighborhood fan and set to work giving Fred Rogers the autotune treatment. Perhaps the most exciting part of this new viral video is that fact that PBS has said it is the first in a series of PBS icons remixed.

"Imagine every person that you see is someone different from every other person in the world". No one would dream of going all existential on kids' brains, nowadays. The man was a philosopher!
The voice activated Picture-Picture. Then there's that thing he did using avatars to transport us to another dimension where cats talk. He made kids think... and adults trip out.
