This week’s big releases include "The Amazing Spider-Man," "Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D," and "Savages."
In "The Amazing Spider-Man," Peter Parker (now played by Andrew Garfield of "The Social Network") searches for clues to why his parents disappeared when he was so young, and runs afoul of his father's former partner, Dr. Curt Connors.
"Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D" takes a look at the pop star's life on and off stage, including her religious family's opinions of her career.
And "Savages," Oliver Stone's latest, follows two California marijuana farmers as they face off against a Mexican drug cartel.

I totally disagree with the comments on Spiderman. I loved it, my 8-year-old son loved it, and we did not feel that it was too long at all. I did reflect on this one being darker than the other series, and just as a appreciated the departure from comic book land with the new Batman series, I appreciate the departure here. Also, I felt that Andrew really nailed the teenager vibe. Okay, I wish Emma was on screen more too, but how much is the girlfriend really supposed to be focused on? How much did she get in the actual story-lines? I am hoping that she will be sticking around for the next installment, because based on this one, I am really looking forward to the next two Spidey movies.
