Top of the Hour: Fed Will Not Raise Interest Rates, Morning Headlines

Thursday, January 26, 2012

The Federal Reserve says it doesn't expect to raise interest rates in the U.S. until late 2014. The surprise move sent the dollar sharply lower in markets, and caused U.S. government borrowing costs to fall. In its regular policy statement, the central bank says that it sees "significant downside risks" to the economy, and said inflation had fallen back to a level in line with its mandate.

One headline: Father Jenkins welcomes pro-abortion President Obama to speak at Notre Dame a few years ago, and he took a lot of heat. Father Jenkins defended his invitation, and even prosecuted pro-life people who picketed President Obama's talk. Now the Dept. of HHS has said that it won't expand the non-existent conscience protection in the health care law, and Father Jenkins said that he is 'very disappointed'. Dupe.

In a related story, Sister Keenan, who supported President Obama's healthcare plan and was essential is getting the last few votes (Catholics) to get it passed, has said, in regard to the conscience protections in the bill, that she is 'very disappointed'. Dupe.

Why did they think we were protesting? They didn't believe us about these people and their devotion to abortion.
