A Closer Look at the Weekend's GOP Debates

There were two debates over the weekend: the ABC/Yahoo debate Saturday night, and the "Meet the Press" debate on Sunday morning. Whether any particular candidate's performance will reinvigorate their campaign or guarantee them solid lead in Tuesday's primary remains uncertain. But during both debates, it became clear that Iowa caucus victor Mitt Romney was a target.

Todd Zwillich is The Takeaway's Washington correspondent and discusses the strategies during each debate.

I enjoyed the discussion with Tavis Smiley and Connell West. The crack to Tavis Smiley about not taking an hour was stupid and gratuitous. I expect better from John Hockenberry.

thank you.

Last week you brought up what issues would carry into 2012, Occupy, would be the word, Looking at "independents" The Corporate Media does not integrate the whole field of candidates running, as they bring up Real Solutions to the Conversation of Real Problems, example Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer http://www.buddyroemer.com/

Romneys Health care drove his wife to move & quit social work? What does one have to do with the other??? Either you are a social worker because you want to help people or you aren't...
BTW lots of folks STAY in MA because we are now all covered, even if we lose our jobs or are too poor to afford the astronomical health care premiums.

Your on at 5AM here and as an "oldster" I listen almost every day. Ron Paul may be hot with the young people, but they don't vote much. As I understand, he is for getting rid of Social Security and Medicare, which I live on, and I would be committing hari-kari if voted for him.

Did you report on the 16-18 FEET of snow in Cordova, Alaska? No room because of republican debate coverage, I guess.

No questions for the Washington correspondent about last week's controversial recess appointments?
