Israel's Debt to Iran; Iran's Debt to Israel

On Tuesday, Iran called for more talks with the U.N. nuclear watchdog group, claiming that their current nuclear program is peaceful. However, this assurance hasn't placated Israel: according to intelligence reporters for the Associated Press, Israeli officials said that they would not warn the U.S. if they decided to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.

Roya Hakakian, author of “Assassins of the Turquoise Palace,” is an Iranian Jew with deep roots in both Israel and Iran, argues that neither country would even consider attacking the other if they recognized their deep, mutually beneficial roots.

"This moment of fear" is an Iranian theocracy armed with nuclear weapons that has repeatedly threaten to destroy Israel while successfully suppressing dissent in their nation.

While Germany was once "a pretty brave supporter of Jews" compared to the pogroms of Eastern Europe and even had a Jewish Foreign Minister in the 1920's, what favors did that do for them just a decade later when the German government changed?
What help did German society give to patriotic Jewish World War One veterans who fought for Germany and displayed their combat decorations to the Nazis as they were carted off to the camps?

"Really ironic" isn't it?

Of course, this was idiotic babbling. The fact that this Roya is Iranian and a Jew doesn't make her an expert. Babbling on the level "If we all smile, everything will be fine" is always irritating.
Among other things, Polish cemetery's in Iran only connection to Jews is antisemitism of the people buried there. The Anders army which was passing through Iran was notorious for antisemitism and barbaric treatment of those few Jews which were allowed to be in the army - many were rejected (for being Jewish) and left to rote in Stalin's camps.
The fact is also that most Iranian Jews left Iran and went to Israel immediately after the creation of Israel which doesn't seem to be a sign of extreme comfort in Iran.
There were some bright moments in the very, very long history, but I don't think one can build anything on it in such an idiotic way.

I actually intended to leave another comment and was looking for a place for it.
This is as good a place as any other.
NPR crowd is truly illiterate. The guy who asks for money praising BBC program clearly didn't attend any school.

Dear whoever you are,
The fact that Britain has been an empire (still there are leftovers and ENGLISH imposed on innocent populations) doesn't mean that BBC's coverage isn't parochial. Actually it is as parochial and as bigoted as this nation has always been. At this moment, Britain is one of the most bigoted nations on Earth, and criminal (fact) BBC is leading in bigotry.

"argues that neither country would even consider attacking the other if they recognized their deep, mutually beneficial roots."
More idiotic babbling is coming.
