The United States is attempting to have alleged drug lord and gang leader, Christopher "Dudus" Coke, extradited from Jamaica. The announcement by the Jamaican government, Sunday, that they will cooperate with the U.S. has ignited a huge storm of violence that has left a reported 49 dead in Jamaica's capital city of Kingston.
Who is this man that is at the center of this chaos and why does the U.S. care so much? To help us answer that is Dan Murphy, writer for The Christian Science Monitor, who also recently spent three weeks with gang members in Jamaica, and has first-hand experience with Coke's supporters. Karen Madden-James, BBC and Jamaican Radio reporter joins us from Jamaica, where Coke is still at large.
