On this morning's program, your "Carpetbagger" got it wrong in reference to Mo'Nique's comment, "...I would like to thank the Academy for showing that it can be about the performance and not the politics." What Mo'nique was referring to was the fact that she did not campaign for the Oscar the way most nominees do in Hollywood [a la Nicolas Chartier]. Thus, the voting by members of the Academy was based on what members saw on screen and not on the hype that a "spin machine" may have proliferated in order to sway votes.
