I worked in an IT support role for a large electronics manufacturer in a rural community. When the company packed up and left town, sending the jobs to Malaysia, most of the employees qualified for re-training thru the TAA program. I was among them, and managed to supplement an already significant list of capabilities. The problem for me and most of the other former employees is location. The good paying jobs are in the city, a 60 mile(one-way )commute from this rural community.
