“ I think it really does illustrate the challenge the Taliban poses. These attacks are becoming more and more coordinated, of course it isn't the first attack on the city of Kabul; the city residents have gotten fairly used to suicide attacks. They do happen every other month or so. But this attack is much bigger in scale obviously because it involves more people; suicide attackers and gunmen, and car bombers. So the nature of that threat is obviously a worry to the Afghan government and to the U.S. and NATO forces who are based here...We're being told for our own security we can't leave the basement. Every indication is that it's going to be some time before the 'all clear' is sounded, not just here in the hotel, but more importantly, in the rest of Kabul.
