The 7.0 earthquake that struck near Port-au-Prince on January 12 is the worst Haiti has seen in over 200 years. Haiti's government says it buried 170,000, and millions are still in need of help. It was already the most impoverished country in the western hemisphere and nobody yet knows the extent of the devastation.
MoreWith so much of Haiti destroyed in Tuesday’s earthquake, much will need to be rebuilt — with very limited resources. Cameron Sinclair, executive director of Architecture for Humanity, is well-versed in the challenges ahead.
Sinclaire's organization, which regularly works in disaster-afflicted areas, has people on the ground in Haiti now, assessing the damage and determining what local materials can be used to rebuild Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas. He talks with us about what’s ahead and the challenges they face.

How do we get involved in rebuilding Haiti? I am a not for profit building company. We build schools, churches & orphanages. We have volunteers from our church families all around the world. We are a christian organization.
First, let me say thank you to the american people and the citizen of the world for coming the aid of Haiti - my native contry. Could you / your organization see that the shanty towns around P-auP arent rebuilt? This is an opportunity to redesign a modern city , green city with some trees
You asked -whose responsibility is it to rebuild Haiti?
"To whom much is given, much is expected." That means us in the USA.
