A few weeks ago, Roz Chast, esteemed New Yorker cartoonist, created a cartoon that had us all charmed. It depicted an imaginary "Google Magazine" with story titles like "Capitol Nebraska What" and "Parakeet Molasses Safe." For this week's tech segment, we talk with Roz about how she came up with her cartoon, and how Google has become a regular part of her life.
We also talk with Dr. Gary Small, author of "iBrain: Surviving the Technological Alteration of the Modern Mind," about what's happening in Roz's brain — and in all of our brains — when we're using Google.

I heard this segment on the way to work. Wanting to see the cartoon referenced, I immediatey searched for it...on Google, of course! "NPR Cartoon Google" worked :-)
I use Google a lot and have never had it respond to me with incomplete sentences peppered with "sort of", "you know", "like" and "ugh". However, I sure heard a lot of that spicing in this segment. I suspect our ability to communicate effectively improves or declines in proportion to the articulateness of the radio talking heads we listen to.
