there were two very obvious shortcomings in your speech:

You mentioned long time presence: that is, occupation. This modus operandi has ceased to have any life expectation in the last century, see E Europe and USSR, European Colonies vs varous nation states in EU, Israel re Lebanon, etc ad infinitum.

Second, you mentioned trainig, nation building etc, matters which depend on large amount of EXCESS wealth, of which the USA seems top be short to the tune of TRILLIONS OF DOLARS, offshore; and even more trillions of dollars in homeland related to all the unfunded liabilities of the various levels of government re pension, medicare etc.

So perhaps you would like to express a views how you would propose the USAS to overcome the costs and overcome the historical aversion of Afgan residents to occupation.

Lest you, Sir, can have rational answer to the above two points, I am affraid that you speech does not have connection to reality.
