All great champions are resilient, and, this weekend, old sports champions return to the limelight. Slugger Manny Ramirez, who helped bring two World Series rings to Boston, returns to the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight from a 50-game suspension for violating baseball’s drug policy. Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong returns to France for this year’s Tour de France.

Mr. Hockenberry: As a Scot, Andy Murray is not English but he is still a Brit -- Scotland is on the island of Britain, and the term "Great Britain" includes Scotland, Wales and England. I believe it came into vogue in the 1700s as an attempt to overcome the historic national animosities (or, if you're cynical, to fool the Scots and Welsh into thinking they were equal subjects of the English crown).
For the Williams sisters its routine. Venus, ousted the world #1 player in the world, Dinara Safina, setting up 4th time she will be playing her sister in a Wimbeldon Final. Serena arrives there after playing in the longest ladies semifinal in history defeating of the tough Elena Dementieva who played brilliantly tremendous tennis. In 12 years these sisters from LA have gotten quite used to meeting each other in Grand Slam Finals, having met 8 times in a final. they are the definition of champions!
